    NO SERVICE AFTER IOS 7 upgrade

    Since I upgraded my iPad 4 128GB and my iPad mini I've had a No Service sign. After switching the machines off and on again, I might get Vodacom coverage for a few seconds but then it goes away.
    Vodacom claims it is a hardware problem, I ask "on both machines? Simultaneously, after installing IOS 7?" Both of them were working fine until the "upgrade". Could there be an incompatibility on Vodacom's side?
    I have since:
    - Dowloaded the 7.0.2 update;
    - rebooted the iPad many times;
    - restored original settings via iTunes (plugged to my Mac);
    - re-installed IOS7 3 times;
    - restored data from a previous back-up;
    - set up it as a new iPad;
    - reset network settings (Cellular Data > Reset Settings);
    - reset all settings (General>Reset All Settings);
    - disabled LTE;
    - set the APN to iphone.vodacom.za;
    - set the APN to internet.

    The result is always the same: No Service

    Any suggestions? Anyone going through the same problem?
    I'm just too scared to upgrade my two iPhone 4 and my wife's iPad 3.

    I am having the same problem. Vodacom does not work. I put in an MTN sim and that works. Have you tried another network. Imo the problem lies with Vodacom. Maybe we need a carrier update.

    You have basically tried almost anything I wanted to suggest.
    Considering what you have already tried, I doubt if this will work, but worth a shot.

    Perform a hard reboot (by holding power+Home button until phone restarts)

    But I do feel that this is a problem with the vodacom network. They will probably have to release a carrier update (if they one day realize their problem)

    It could also be coverage issues in your area. Have you tried testing in different locations?

    Thanks. I had done the the hard reboot too, before each reinstall (x3). No joy.
    There's no coverage problem either. My other Apple gadgets (not "upgraded" yet) have signal as usual. Vodacom, in true style blames the hardware. I wrote on their Facebook page. You can read their blow-off reply.
    If you guys hear of any possible solutions, please holler.

    Just tried taking out the SIM cards too. No improvement.

    I've experienced no problems on my iPad mini when I upgraded to iOS 7 - MTN. I do however get the message something like " updated carrier settings available , would you like to update " even though I accept the message, each time I plug in it comes back.

    Maybe there is still some nigglies with iOS 7 for iPad

    The problem I see is that you need to have a signal before can get a carrier update. I am stuck with no signal, thus no way to get an update, or can you get one over wifi?

    Hi

    I also had the issue.

    Try this

    Go to settings, Cellular data, Switch off 4G

    Then do a Hard reset.

    Worked on my Ipad mini

    Good luck. Please let me know if you had success?

    Ciao

    Same problem, I am also with Vodacom and even got a SIM swop with no improvement. I can confirm that it is not a lack of signal and also it started right after the upgrade, before the upgrade I had never had this problem. Only way is to eject the SIM and re-insert it and then it will have service for a couple of minutes and return back to no service. What I did notice is that in my case it seems like the no service only appear when the signal drop due to coverage or switching between towers when traveling and I have to eject the SIM to recover, when it is in one position at my home the whole day it seems ok. I have followed the suggestion that Corrie posted and I will see how long the service stay up.
