Apple has just announced the new range of iMac models at the event in San Jose.
New features include a 5mm thinner display, a choice of Intel’s Ivy Bridge Core i5 and Core i7 processors, a gapless, less reflective display.
No retina for this baby just yet – Screen sizes remain the same – 21.5-inch, 1080p model and a 27-inch, 2,560 x 1,400 mode.
Both models feature a 720p front facing iSight camera, with dual microphones, NVIDIA GeForce 600 graphics, up to 32GB configurable RAM, and a range of storage options – up to 3TB of mechanical storeage, a 768GB SSD or the all new “Fusion drive” that contains both 128GB of flash with either 1TB or 3TB of mechanical storage, commonly referred to as a Hybrid drive (image below).
These babies start shipping in December. We may only see them here in SA a while after that.
