Apple dropped the latest iOS 6.1 which brings some minor changes, along with some more major changes such as LTE support for other countries, including South Africa.
The update is available OTA (Over-The-Air) by going to Settings > General > Software Update, or over on our Downloads page.
LTE support for more carriers (complete list of supported carriers at www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/)
· Purchase movie tickets through Fandango with Siri (USA only)
· iTunes Match subscribers can now download individual songs from iCloud
· New button to reset the Advertising Identifier
South Africa made it onto the official list of supported LTE carriers, with Vodacom being the only officially supported LTE carrier. Other carriers may work with LTE however it is unknown at this time.
LTE Option Not Appearing?
Go to Settings > General > About and make sure your carrier settings are Vodacom 14.1. If it is not, then it will prompt you to update them as long as you are on this screen. Once updating, you should have the toggle.
If not, make sure your cellular APN is set to “lte.vodacom.za” or simply reset network settings in Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network SettingsShare This:
